My girl! What a year 2020 has been! It has been filled with so many trials and tribulations, but you have handled each with true grace and grit. College did not start out as you had ever planned or envisioned, yet you left for school still full of excitement. We never imagined that all of your classes would be attended online, sorority recruitment would occur through zoom, and attending a college football game would mean being covid tested in order to secure a ticket. There were so many uncertainties, but this we knew for sure. You would be allowed to live on campus in a dorm, and your roommate would be your best friend. Your classes would be challenging, and you would have to study a lot, but you would conquer them all. You would have a Chemistry professor that is both youtube and instagram famous. You would become involved in the university, and you would make many new friends through your dorm and sorority. You would experience many new adventures paddle boarding, visiting new restaurants, and exploring Austin. As initiation into DG is upon you, I continue to have so many hopes and dreams for you. My hope is that you will form lifelong friendships with other young women who share similar dreams and values as you, and you will continue to serve others in ways you never knew possible through your sorority's philanthropy. There is no doubt in my mind that you will conquer any and all obstacles that come your way. Remember that life will not always be easy, but it will always be worth it. Keep your feet anchored firmly on the ground, open your heart up to love and be loved, keep an open mind even when it seems challenging, and most importantly believe in yourself! You are smart, you are kind, you are important, and you are loved! And in the words of the Delta Gamma...Go do good!
